Compare the2026 Subaru UnchartedVS 2025 Porsche Macan Electric

2026 Subaru Uncharted
2025 Porsche Macan Electric

Safety

The Uncharted has a standard Secondary Collision Brake, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Macan Electric doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Uncharted has a standard Parking Support Brake that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Macan Electric doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

Both the Uncharted and the Macan Electric have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

Warranty

Subaru’s powertrain warranty covers the Uncharted 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Porsche covers the Macan Electric. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the Macan Electric ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are over 3 times as many Subaru dealers as there are Porsche dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Uncharted’s warranty.

Reliability

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Subaru vehicles are better in initial quality than Porsche vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Subaru above average in initial quality. With 1 more problems per 100 vehicles, Porsche is rated lower.

Brakes and Stopping

The Uncharted’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs standard on the Macan Electric are solid, not vented.

Suspension and Handling

For better maneuverability, the Uncharted’s turning circle is 3.6 feet tighter than the Macan Electric’s (36.1 feet vs. 39.7 feet).

Chassis

The Subaru Uncharted may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 850 to 900 pounds less than the Porsche Macan Electric.

The Uncharted is 10.5 inches shorter than the Macan Electric, making the Uncharted easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Cargo Capacity

The Uncharted has a much larger cargo volume than the Macan Electric with its rear seat up (25.4 vs. 22.1 cubic feet).

Ergonomics

The Uncharted has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Macan Electric doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The Uncharted’s standard easy entry system glides the driver’s seat back, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. An easy entry system costs extra on the Macan Electric.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Uncharted has a standard rear wiper. A rear wiper costs extra on the Macan Electric.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Uncharted has standard extendable sun visors. The Macan Electric doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The Subaru Uncharted stands out above the Porsche Macan Electric by offering not one, but two Qi-compatible phone chargers. This convenience helps travelers with multiple devices to keep powered up on-the-go. Wireless charging eliminates lost or cluttered charging cables and two of them provide more flexibility.
